Julian Hsiung is an accomplished artist known for his highly detailed oil paintings that reflect classical techniques with a modern edge, often focusing on the intimate portraiture of young men. He was born in Beijing and raised in Taiwan, where he studied at Overseas Chinese University. After moving to New York, he established his studio in Dumbo.

Artist Statement

Hsiung’s work has been showcased in several exhibitions, notably at the SoHo Project Space and Arcadia Contemporary in New York. His pieces are held in private collections worldwide, reflecting the strong reception his art has garnered. He is celebrated for pushing the boundaries of portraiture and for the meticulous execution of his subjects, with works that evoke both beauty and vulnerability.
